China pledges non-lethal military assistance worth RMB 109 million

China has pledged non-lethal military assistance worth RMB 109 million (Rs 1.635 billion) to Nepali Army, according to an agreement signed by Nepal’s visiting Army Chief Gaurab Shumsher Rana with his Chinese counterpart in Beijing on Monday.
Of the total assistance, RMB 59 million will be used for setting up two mobile hospitals, while the remaining RMB 50 million will be spent for other logistic purposes, said a statement issued by Nepal’s army headquarters.
General Rana met with his Chinese counterpart General Fang Fanghui and discussed bilateral matters, the statement added. Nepalnews.com
