Buddha was born in Nepal- Kabir Bedi apologized

News from Nepal editor- September 7, 2013

Mr Kabir Bedi, an Indian television and film actor, apologized for his shameful speaking relating to the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. He said  few days before that Gautam Buddha was born in India and then apologized via twitter on September 7, 2013. In twitter, he said "Deepest apologies. Yes, Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. Was thinking of the Kingdom of Kapilavastu when I spoke. Sorry! " It seems he is still making mistake on his apologize. He says that he was thinking of the kingdom of Kapilvastu when he spoke. But, the historic kingdom of Kavilvastu lies in the District of Lumbini of the state of Nepal. India and the Indians have tried a lot of time to spread the shameful rumors such as Buddha was born in India and Mt Everest lies in India. Such an acts of Indians aren't more than their silly acts to make them shameful and remains the same in the future if they keep similar practices.

Nepal being the country of Mt Everest and birthplace of Gautam Buddha are universal truths as sun rises from the east and Nepal doesn't need to prove them. The only important thing at present is little effort from all the Nepalese people throughout the world to keep organizing campaigns and programs just to let people from that area know about Nepal, Nepalese and the important and interesting places in Nepal.

Jayanta Prasad, former Indian Ambassador to Nepal, has clearly said that there is no any confusion on the birthplace of Gautam Buddha which is Lumbini, Nepal in the interview with Mr Ravi Lamichhane in a longest television talk show in the history of television world. India has been trying to transfer Nepalese properties into its own since a long time and encroaching border towards Nepal. The issue of Nepalese land (to Tista in the east and to Kangada in the west) which was lost in the name of "Sugauli Treaty" has been rising. It has been being explored that in the year 1947, at the time  British returned Indian Teritory, advised Indian to returned Nepalese land to Nepal and then Nepalese leaders to take Nepalese land back. The Rana rulers at that time refused to take the land back due to the fear of being chased up because of the enlightened knowledge of democracy in the people residing in loosed Nepalese  territory. A documentary "Greater Nepal" made by Manoj Pandit claims that there is an official copy of the letter given to the Indian leaders at the time of returning their territory, which tells them to return Nepalese loosed territory to Nepal, somewhere in the United kingdom.
